The sixth edition of Vino & Territorio, the international workshop organised by the Movimento Turismo del Vino Friuli Venezia Giulia and supported by the Gorizia Chamber of Commerce will be held from 8th to 10th March 2008 at Villa di Toppo Florio in Buttrio.

The event, which is unique in Friuli Venezia Giulia, brings to the region about sixty non-Italian importers from the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe who aim to establish and expand business relations with local wine estates.

Thanks to its format, Vino & territorio is a major event for the entire winemaking sector in Friuli Venezia Giulia because it focuses on the acquisition of new contacts, consolidating existing relationships and globally developing the region’s territory, ensuring visibility for wine estate and the strategic wine tourism and food and wine sector.

On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 March, various events have been organised to offer importers the opportunity for personal contacts with the wine estates taking part in the initiative. One-to-one meetings have been specially arranged to enable the operators taking part to forge or reinforce business relations and study possible commercial agreements. To facilitate this process, each winery will have its own booth for managing the business contacts that have been arranged and to present its products.

For Vino & Territorio, a delegation of specialist wine journalists will be in the region, visiting wineries and production zones, and in addition a group of tour operators from outside Italy will be here to promote Friuli Venezia Giulia as a primary holiday destination.

 Vino & Territorio is a major event, supported by the Banca di Cividale and others with the collaboration of the Municipality of Buttrio. It was made possible by financial contributions granted in the context of the programmatic agreement of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Authority with ICE and MAP in close liaison with the Chamber of Commerce of Gorizia, which was responsible for implementing the project.
